Malwarebytes keeps Detecting gamevance

Recommended Posts

I click Quarantine and it goes away, then if I reboot computer it keeps coming up.

The folder C:\Program files\Gamevance\ does not exist. I have put the drive in another computer and searched for the folder. I have booted with multipule boot cd's and booted to DOS and the folder is not present. I have a program that can let me see every file on a disk weather it is hidden, invisible or what not, and the files are not there.

I have run quick scans and full scans and the computer comes clean.

I did run a quicks can at one point and it detected the gamevance malware and I removed the selections, rebooted and ran another scan and it came back clean.

If I open IE and go to hxxp://www.gamevance.com the MBAM webblocker does its job and blocks the site.

At the moment I have added this to my host file and it seems to have stopped popping up.

127.0.0.1 gamevance.com

ADDED: (this only seemed to work for a little while, after a few hours I went back to the computer and there was the MBAM message again)

Here are some protection logs for you. (oh by the way this is my friends computer and not mine.... he he he I am not Linda)

EDIT: Added more info

Just wondering if anything has been found on this..... I still see it on a couple computers?
It's determined to be a bug and should be corrected in 1.47 if all goes as planned
