mbam run from USB stick ?

Recommended Posts

I have an infected PC that inhibits any update attempts.

Some how one of those darn "you are infected with trojan pop up cleaner" got into my PC, again.....

Is mbam portable that I can load it on a USB stick and run from the stick?

If not, it should be considered!!! :)

Forum needs a FAQ area - how to load current updates into an infected PC then how to use SAFE CMD mode to run.

How do I load a current mbam/dat files to the infected PC?

Hello N6JSX, and welcome to malwarebytes.org

Please see ISSUE 4 in Section A of the FAQ here.

NOTE: If you are transferring the rules.ref file to an infected computer, it is safe to use a CD but NOT a USB stick. Some malware can infect a USB stick which could then infect other computers you plug it in to afterwards.

If you require help with malware removal, please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

I use a USB stick, but my USB stick has a write protection switch that I have locked so viruses can not write or copy themselves to my USB Stick, but if you don't have one of those, then burn them to a CD like marktreg stated.
