64-bit

Recommended Posts

The protection module fully works on every Windows OS from Windows 2000 forward both x86 and x64

Yes, on 32-bit editions of Windows it installs 32-bit binaries for the protection module, and on 64-bit editions of Windows it installs 64-bit binaries for the protection module.

mbamgui.exe is always 32-bit, as is mbam.exe.

@ GT500

hehe I should have read your first reply a bit better.

mbamgui.exe is always 32-bit, as is mbam.exe.

Does that mean that they'll also work on 64 bit though?

Yes. 64-bit editions of Windows have WoW64 (Windows on Windows 64-bit) which is a compatibility layer to allow 32-bit applications to run on 64-bit versions of Windows. It can seem a bit complicated, but it allows 32-bit applications to run in 32-bit mode on a 64-bit processor while a 64-bit operating system is running.
