Cannot view "all settings" on GMAIL web view due to google.com being block

I tried to find a settings on the Web access for my GMAIL account, and I could only see common settings. The "See all settings" banner just did not respond.

I noticed that BG had blocked google.com  Surely a big player root URL should not be blocked like this?

It was easy to unblock, but novice or busy users might be confused by this unexpected blockage. Hopefully this is an easy fix on your side?

Which browser?

I had no issue with Chrome, Edge, or Firefox accessing that feature.
