False Positive - SteadyMouse

Recommended Posts

I am the developer of SteadyMouse, a Windows accessibility application that assists folks with hand tremors with using the mouse.

I have recently begun getting false positive reports from customers that make use of "Malwarebytes Browser Guard". It seems to be blocking the download of the installer after their purchase. Many of these customers are elderly and not in a condition to easily understand the extra difficulty when the download gets blocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Main site for background: https://www.steadymouse.com/

All software is regularly checked against VirusTotal. You can see the most recent, passing, scan results for the two license tiers here:

I have attached the two most recent installers for your own review. Please take them down however after confirmation.

Notably both installers, and the underlying application executable are code signed with an EV certificate that is in good standing.

I am happy to correspond if you need any further information. The email on my account for this forum can reach me privately if desired. If you need license keys for further testing please contact me.

Kind regards,

Ben Gottemoller,

This is a browser guard exclusive block.

Could you provide a screenshot of the block?

In these cases the URL of the blocks are important. You can place them in a zip as no one but Authorized members can access them.
