ODVS Posted March 4, 2021 ID:1442584 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Hi there, Malwarebytes just started blocking one of my own websites - https://wcrespace.com - on the grounds of "potential scam". I designed, coded and built that site. It's a video game fan project. We don't even offer any software to downloa yet, since we're still in the development phase. I'd greatly appreciate it if the site could be whitelisted, please. Many thanks, Owen Davies Link to post
Staff Dashke Posted March 4, 2021 Staff ID:1442585 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Hello Owen, Can you please attach the log file or a screenshot? As we are not detecting this domain with MB4. Nice avatar by the way! Link to post
ODVS Posted March 4, 2021 Author ID:1442586 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Thanks, Stefan! And thank you for the swift response. I'm specifically getting this gate screen from Browser Guard when I try to visit the site: Link to post
ODVS Posted March 4, 2021 Author ID:1442593 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Quick update - it appears to be this specific URL/page that's getting flagged: https://wcrespace.com/pausemenu It's a visual mockup of a potential in-game menu, that plays several audio files via Javascript on user interactions. Is it possible this is what's causing the issue? Link to post
Solution gonzo Posted March 4, 2021 Solution ID:1442646 Share Posted March 4, 2021 That's the problem. Here's the technical reasons behind it, which we started enforcing with the most recent version of Browser Guard. I have whitelisted the site, but that doesn't mean that the browsers won't tighten security there in the future. Give it 15-30 minutes and you should be okay. https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2017/09/autoplay-policy-changes Link to post
