MBAM Won't install Code 2. system cannot find the file specified

Recommended Posts

Alright excuse me if this is in the wrong area or if I do something wrong but here is my problem:

Today while I was doing normal routine scans with MBAM it suddenly shut off, so I click on it and it said Windows could not find the file so it gave me the option of browsing around and finding a file to open it with. I did not know what to do so I click cancel when I tried again it said

c:/WINDOWS/Malwarebytes/Anti-Malware could not be found

code 2.

System cannot find the file specified.

The weird thing is that I had already had it downloaded since 4 weeks ago and until today had no problems. As I said earlier it just stoppd working out of no where and my first idea was just to uninstall and then re install but that didn't work either.

So now I am thinking that I have a virus or something that it deleted one of the files and then prevented it from re instaling.

Please help!

Hi,

Let's see if we can dig something out.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.

Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt

[*]Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:

  • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
  • Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
  • Don't check
    Show All
    box while scanning in progress!
  • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
  • This copies log to clipboard
  • Post log in your reply.
