Real-Time Protection turned off

Recommended Posts

I used mbam-clean-2.3.0.1001 and reinstalled Malwarebytes 3.3.1 recently due to my computer freezing and displaying random solid colors on my monitors (2) whenever I tried to do a scan. (Forcing me to restart)

I'm in the premium trial phase after installing and I'm unable to turn Web Protection on.

When I click to try, it says starting for a moment then the switch turns back off.

I sometimes get something like "Malwarebytes services stops working. The program will restart" when trying to turn on the protection.

Might be relevant: My HDD shows as 100% Disk Usage unless I end the superfetch process.

I've attached my mb-check-results.zip

Any help is very appreciated,

Thanks

If you haven't done so already, please run these two tools and then attach the logs in your next reply:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)
    1. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
    2. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
    3. Press the "Scan" button
    4. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
      • Leave the log files in the current location, they will be automatically collected by mb-check once you complete the next set of instructions
  • MB-Check
    1. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
    2. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, press "Enter" to accept the EULA then click "OK"
    3. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
      • This file will include the FRST logs generated from the previous set of instructions
      • Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Hello and Welcome!

I few things I notice while reviewing your logs briefly...

That is an old version of the tool, the latest version is mb-clean-3.1.0.1031....

Your installed version is having issues, something has gone wrong, as you have a corrupt controllers version "controllers_version" : "1.0.0", so I will give you instructions below on how to re-install...

You really need to make some space on your drive to give it some breathing room.  Look at deleting old files you no longer need to free up some space.

Your hosts file has entries there for adobe that do not belong there, normally done for pirating software, just thought you should be aware of that.

Now below are the instructions I would like you to follow to get a clean reinstall of Malwarebytes, that hopefully will help correct the issues. (if it does not correct your issue please provide us with a clean set of diagnostic logs)

Let's try this first.... (Malwarebytes clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install)

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-clean tool you will be asked to reboot. Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES (it will download the latest version) or you can download the latest version manually (currently v3.3.1.2183 CU 1.0.262) to re-install from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (after you run all the tools requested, all the logs will be combined into one log file named: mb-check-results.zip located on your Desktop (which will include the FRST logs inside the zip file))
  3. NOTE: More info about the latest Malwarebytes 3.2.2 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,
