self-protection for free users? please?

Unfortunately that would require that we always keep active processes and drivers active in memory in the background, something many of our free users have stated that they are adamantly opposed to.  Additionally, our free version is really only intended as a remediation tool so as long as you can get it to run, it shouldn't need constant protection.  Besides that, while it is not compatible with version 3 at this time, we do have our standalone Chameleon tool which will download and install version 2 of Malwarebytes on an already infected system and use the self-protection driver while it installs and scans to ensure it is able to overcome threats that attempt to block it.  I do believe that at some point in the future our product team does plan to update Chameleon to be compatible with version 3 and when that happens, they likely will install the Chameleon files along with Malwarebytes just as we do in versions 1.x and 2.x so that it may be used at any time after installation to get Malwarebytes up and running so again, there will be no need for a full time self-protection driver.
