Hi,

For several weeks now my MalwareBytes Anti-malware Premium has not successfully updated the database. Current version is v2016.06.24.04. I started getting a popup telling me that I could not access the server for updates ("Unable to access update server"). I have tried restarting the computer. I have closed Malwarebytes and reopened it.

I am running Windows 10 64 bit on a Windows 10 operating system.

Please let me know what steps I can take to get Malwarebytes updating again. Thank you,

Michael

Hello and Welcome to Malwarebytes :)

Let's try this first.... (sometimes after you upgrade to Win10, MBAM gets corrupted (not sure if you did update or not)).

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs(the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about v2.2.1 HERE; User Guide ONLINE; User Guide PDF; FAQ: Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,

I had the same issue and this process resolved my problem. I just ran the clean removal tool and reinstalled and it resolved my issue of the tool not being able to connect to the update server.
