The laptop in question is a friend of mine who had some adware on it (displaying pop ups randomly when on Chrome). She came to me for advice and I told her to install Malware Bytes which should take care of it. This she did and I think the adware is gone. The laptop although connects to WiFi networks (both hers and mine and also tried tehtering my phone) will not allow me to browse the web online or connect to the likes of Skype or Spotify (also the same when connecting via ethernet). I am able to 'ping 8.8.8.8' in CMD and all 4 packets are sent and recieved so I am to believe it is is connecting somewhere. I have attached some things below which I've seen suggested in other posts, any help would greatly be appreciated.
