MBAE Does Not Auto Update

I had MBAE version 1.07 and even though I had the settings set to Automatically upgrade to new versions, it did NOT upgrade to version 1.08 when it became available. Fortunately, I have a third party program software updater named "File Hippo" which alerted me to the fact that a newer version of MBAE was available to download and install from its listing. Had it not been for File Hippo, I would have had no knowledge of a newer version being available. I like to be constantly notified of Malwarebytes newer program versions when they become available. Consider this posting an official complaint from a paying customer!!!

Hello: :)

The new version is not yet available via the program's internal auto-updater.

This has been the norm for all new MBAE builds -- it is first made available as a standalone download, before releasing via the auto-updater.

Please refer to this news announcement, dated 4 November 2015, which clearly states the following:
https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/174760-malwarebytes-anti-exploit-108/

To download Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit 1.08 head here. You can install on top of your existing installation.

In a week or two, we'll start activating the automatic upgrades, so if you prefer not to do anything, simply relax and wait for your MBAE to upgrade itself.

There is no need to use 3rd-party software updating applications or to file complaints. ;)

Thank you,

Thank you for the clarification. How do I sign up for the newsletter that you referred to?

Hi rwharold.

As daledoc1 said, these are the typical release phases for MBAE:

1- Release to new downloads first

2- Release auto-upgrades for consumers

3- Release auto-upgrades for companies

We do these staged releases as beta testing phases are good for QA but cannot see all the issues. So we stage the release in order to make sure there's no major hidden bugs before we deploy it massively via auto-upgrades.

As for staying on top of the new releases, there's a few things you can do:

- Follow the Malwarebytes blog (via RSS) -> https://blog.malwarebytes.org/

- Periodically check the release history -> https://www.malwarebytes.org/support/releasehistory/
