Malewarebytes crashes when trying to update

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm working on a computer that is having issues with premium version 2.0.2.1012 of Malewarebytes. Anytime it attempts to update, the program crashes.

Faulting application name: mbam.exe, version: 1.0.0.532, time stamp: 0x53518532
Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2be1e
Exception code: 0x40000015

I've run several anti-virus programs, anti-spyware and anti-maleware. The systems seems to be clean at this point, but MWB still crashes.

Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks in advance!

Hello and :welcome:

Let's try this first....

If that does not work, you can also try What to do: Runtime error - database stuck on 2014.03.04 - program stopped

Thank You,

Please uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build

Completed, but still having same issue.

  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and post back the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs

(the three files should be CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt)

Done, logs attached.

FRST.txt

Addition.txt

CheckResults.txt

Thanks for the logs....

Please try this: What to do: Runtime error - database stuck on 2014.03.04 - program stopped which should resolve your issue.

Also I noticed you ran ComboFix on this computer, that program should only be used with guidance from an expert. Do you suspect the computer is infected?

If you think your infected, feel free to follow the instructions below to receive free, one-on-one expert assistance in checking your system and clearing out any infections and correcting any damage done by the malware.

Please see the following pinned topic which has information on how to get help with this: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers

Thank you
