As you may be aware some time ago we commissioned renowned exploit researcher @Kafeine to test MBAE against all current exploit kits in the wild. That test is available from Kafeine's blog (or PDF).

Since then we've gotten a lot of feedback of people wanting to see MBAE's performance against more types of exploits and also to see the performance of other exploit mitigation techniques included in top-tier security products. For this we commissioned PCSecurityLabs who has just published their report Remote Code Execution Exploit Mitigations for Popular Applications (PDF).

The result summary is as follows:

post-141843-0-28697700-1407849644_thumb.

Just to be clear, even though this is a sponsored test, PCSL made the sole decision on the testing methodology, which vulnerabilities to test and which payloads as well as the scoring and ranking criteria.

The plan is o publish it in different stages during a week or two, first only on the Malwarebytes website for new downloads, then for a few hours every day for automatic upgrades. The objective of doing it this way is to make sure everything is smooth before upgrading the entire user base.
