Let's try temporarily uninstalling your Bitdefender Antivirus Plus please. Then restart the computer and run TFC again.

Please Run TFC by OldTimer to clear temporary files:

  • Download TFC from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Close any open programs and Internet browsers.
  • Double click TFC.exe to run it on XP (for Vista and Windows 7 right click and choose "Run as administrator") and once it opens click on the Start button on the lower left of the program to allow it to begin cleaning.
  • Please be patient as clearing out temp files may take a while.
  • Once it completes you may be prompted to restart your computer, please do so.
  • Once it's finished you may delete TFC.exe from your desktop or save it for later use for the cleaning of temporary files.

Then restart the computer again and try the MBAM CLEAN routine once again and let me know the results.

At this point after all the problems I have had and a weeks worth of trouble shooting are you people sure this runs on windows 8.1? I am trying to be patient but at this point after so many problems and so much time invested in trouble shooting I just don't know.

Hi:

Yes, MBAM runs just fine on Windows 8.1

It appears that you already have an open, working ticket in the malware removal section >>HERE<< and that you are being assisted by our forum Root Admin, AdvancedSetup.

I presume that this is the same computer?

We respectfully ask that you please stay with that other topic, as it creates confusion for all parties and consumes precious forum resources to work simultaneously on the same issues in 2 different venues.

Thanks very much for your understanding,

That is due to your BitLocker drive encryption. We cannot scan the OS drive for rootkits that use BitLocker but at this time there is no known infection that can also write to an encrypted BitLocker drive.

So is the scanner loading, updating, and scanning well otherwise?
