Nice article. One thing they mention at the end and claim is difficult isn't necessarily so. Using local encryption is quite easy thanks to a particular tool I discovered recently. It's free too and comes from a well known open source project. I've been using it for a while now and I'm quite pleased with it.

It's called DNSCrypt. Be warned, they have limits on how much traffic you can put through their servers in a given time period, so if you're streaming Netflix and such, you'll want to disable it while doing so.
