Hi,

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit, Dell Inspiron 1750 Laptop 4 GB RAM.

I followed the instructions for the AllanGay post from June 2012 (rkill, unhide, etc.) until it said to stop and post your own thread as instructions became specific to his issue. Got mamb software to run and it comes up clean, can't get Chameleon to run. McAfee comes up clean but hasn't been updated because no network. System will not run most .msc applets. Shows no devices in Device Manager. Doesn't see USB drives. Won't boot from CD/DVD drive. Can't see disk data on any CD's, etc. Won't complete restore from a System Restore Point. Really stymied at every turn. Would be happy to wipe out system and reinstall but nothing will work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have to ask, Why did you ever follow any instructions for any other malware-topic-response to another member ?

Great way to turn your system into an unbootable brick !!

Did you get a Windows 7 DVD with your Dell system ?

If not, Dell will have a factory restore partition on your HDD, and that will facilitate doing a "factory restore" of Windows and your system, taking it back to day One when you got it fresh from Dell.

Have you checked with Dell support ?
