chunk Posted December 13, 2011 ID:504729 Share Posted December 13, 2011 please help. my laptop got infected with the "system fix" malware earlier today. i ran malware bytes and while removing "system fix" it also removed 9 other malware programs from the computer. now the laptop is so slow it is unusable. the hard drive just swaps and ie8 won't load (it appears and then disappears).i have tried running dds so that i can post the log files but that won't run either. i have tried running dds with my virus software (virus scan) disabled, malware bytes disabled, and even in safe mode. each time dds hang after ~ 5 minutes and laptop needs to be restarted. does anyone have any other ideas? i'm running xp with sp3. thx.please help. my laptop got infected with the "system fix" malware earlier today. i ran malware bytes and while removing "system fix" it also removed 9 other malware programs from the computer. now the laptop is so slow it is unusable. the hard drive just swaps and ie8 won't load (it appears and then disappears).i have tried running dds so that i can post the log files but that won't run either. i have tried running dds with my virus software (virus scan) disabled, malware bytes disabled, and even in safe mode. each time dds hang after ~ 5 minutes and laptop needs to be restarted. does anyone have any other ideas? i'm running xp with sp3. thx.i forgot to add that malware bytes keeps alerting me that it blocked outgoing messages to 31.44.184.59. Staff screen317 Posted December 22, 2011 Staff ID:508268 Share Posted December 22, 2011 Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.Download OTL.exe by OldTimer to your Desktop.Close all windows and double click OTL.exe.Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted. It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread. You may need to use two posts to get it all.
