[ RESOLVED ] Lifetime Subscription Questions
Butch73 replied to Butch73's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
For the most part your are clear. So to sum this all up (if needed) , I could do a scratch install of V4 and enter the key info I have now from version 5 and mindful of The first set before the colon is the ID and after the colon is the key and activate it and it would be in lifetime mode and subsequently D/L and install latest online offering over the V4. Did I read you correctly? -

Version 5 is and has been for as long as I can remember. From what you said before they did not make a life time V 5 install. I have (now) the V 4 from your link. But the install of V4 sounds like a moot process if the old V2 keys won't work with V4 (if that is what you are saying). -

So the latest download version I purchased was mbam-setup-2.2.0.1024. After that I received auto updates up to where I am in the V5 series. So, would key for my V2 work for the V4 then like you said install the online updates to be current. This is just a hypothetical break glass in emergency scenario. -

It is in format such as this: XXXXX-XXXXX:XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX I thought this info was available from the MB software but nooooooo.....I had to log on by submiting a numeric code in an email then log on then O could fine my reg info. I thought the actual program itself was had the subscription info, have to log in for that info and not avail in installed MB program. -

Is already was. So if my license key info is registered here , the I would just "reactivate it" with info (blanked out). I have 5 digit format. And the activate subscription would be relevant in my case as I already paid for it. I blanked out my info (PII). -

Ahh okay, I wonder why there wasn't a MB5 install like the MB4? But, I get what you are saying about how to re build to MB5 (Lifetime subscription) if my current backup or hard drive fails. Just wanted to know option(s) to restore to my current state of MB if something unfortunate happens, HD failure or backup corrupt etc. Is the deactivate subscription involved in this or when is it? -

Okay, I just downloaded the link for V4 and saved the activation link info you provided, thanks. So, if need be, I could rebuild MB to its current state (version) by checking for updates after the initial V4 install and registration. Thanks again. -

Thanks for ALL the screen shots but wouldn't it be easier to just install the latest public version online and when asked for reg info to use what I have? -

In the past, (many moons ago) I was using paid older version(s) of Malware Bytes Pro and still have the old emails from 10 yrs ago with ID and reg key(s);Subsequently, I was upgraded to the lifetime premium license and have the key info for it. I suppose those old keys for the older versions would be like keys to old lost locks, i.e, useless. 1. Would that key (lifetime) work if I were to download (manual install) a newer version that was listed online instead of auto update? I am just seeking assurances that if for some reason, I had to reinstall Malwarebytes, and if asked for a reg key, that the one I have will work.

I use Firefox and there is nothing wrong with it. The settings are just fine. Screen shot attached to illustrate my concern.
