Thanks, maybe the pushes to AMO can routinely include a link to https://support.malwarebytes.com/community/browserextension/content?filterID=contentstatus[published]~objecttype~objecttype[document]&query=release notes for the release notes. Better than publishing release notes that are empty.

Where, please? Still no notes at https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/malwarebytes/versions/

At the forum home page: If the reader clicks through it'll become clear that there's no longer a beta, but it'll be smarter to not have the link under Beta Testing Program. Thanks

Allow unabbreviated entries to be viewed in the allow list

Thanks, > Maybe not showing the button at all until something had been entered in those fields +1 I think, the primary problem with the Done button is the false assumption that the GUI is solely for addition. In truth, the UI is also used to review and sometimes remove allowances. Also, to my eye, the paler of the two blues is not pale enough to signify 'greying out' i.e. non-applicability.

Thanks and I know, there was a move away from use of an extensions page (to have everything in a pop-up) but a page is much better suited to uses such as this.- 10 replies

Extensions unreliability at browser startup time
grahamperrin replied to grahamperrin's topic in Firefox
Confirmed. Steps: with Firefox not running in Outlook, click a link that refers to content that should be blocked. Expected: the block. Actual result: the content, not blocked. A screen recording, made yesterday morning: 2019-09-09 09:35.mp4- 10 replies

Compatibility with e.g. Reddit Enhancement Suite

Also: if I allow malware at Reddit whilst not adding allowances for blocked content, then the blocked content that is not in the Reddit domain will be shown (not blocked). For example, the screen to the left:- 6 replies

OK, it's confusing because after deleting allowances I expected the Done button to react to what I had done. If I understand correctly, a better label for the button will be Add. (Does it ever 'do' anything more than add?)

Examples of affected put.re content, in the context of the three Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES) examples at https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/251396-compatibility-with-eg-reddit-enhancement-suite/?tab=comments#comment-1333981 https://s.put.re/UPavs7ud.png https://s.put.re/w7oio57b.png https://s.put.re/NJ6uLZAP.png For those three, the s.put.re site is blocked.

Compatibility with e.g. Reddit Enhancement Suite

Thanks. I forgot to include the address of the Reddit page that's in the screen recording. For completeness – the issue affects RES with both old and new Reddit – the three examples, in chronological order: https://old.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/bl27s9/how_do_i_get_speedidial_2_working/emrdcsy/ https://old.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/csoy5p/waterfox_56213_is_now_available_and_fixes_eme/exi903c/ https://old.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/d0uaci/we_dont_support_your_current_browser_version/ezkh4ht/ – and: https://new.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/bl27s9/how_do_i_get_speedidial_2_working/emrdcsy/ https://new.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/csoy5p/waterfox_56213_is_now_available_and_fixes_eme/exi903c/ https://new.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/d0uaci/we_dont_support_your_current_browser_version/ezkh4ht/- 6 replies

Above: Malwarebytes Browser Guard 2.0.2 added to Waterfox Classic 56.2.14 on FreeBSD-CURRENT. The behaviour is reproducible with Firefox Quantum 69.0. Gut feeling: if users are making do without a working Done button, then simply remove the appearance of a button. Keep the GUI free from clutter.

I found blocks against two addresses that I trust, so I set malware allowances for both put.re and s.put.re Then, I tried to view previously blocked content in the context of Reddit. A previously set allowance is not effective, so I find it necessary to also allow malware at www.reddit.com 2019-09-09 05:39 Malwarebytes.mp4 I do not want to allow malware at Reddit. Please, can this type of issue be resolved? Thanks again. As promised, a test result (the first) on Manjaro Linux, Firefox 69.0: 2019-09-08 08:35.mp4 The usual workaround. To discover whether a non-blocked page (or non-blocked content) should have been blocked: reload- 10 replies

FreeBSD is not Linux. I'll test on Linux (probably Manjaro), and on Windows 10. In the meantime … defocusing from Malwarebytes Browser Guard, I have seen this type of issue often enough, on multiple platforms (including Windows 7 and Linux) for me to guess that it'll be easily reproducible with – for example – Microsoft Outlook 2016 and Firefox Quantum.- 10 replies

OK, here's a much simpler workflow that should be easy for regular users to understand: before starting Firefox use an e-mail application click a link. The symptoms are consistently reproducible: 2019-09-08 03:03 nine consecutive failures.mp4- 10 replies

Thanks. At the time of the first screen recording the Firefox profile was heavily extended, and the machine was under heavy load. I wondered whether 'excess' load increases the likelihood of this type of issue. As far as I can tell, loads are not a factor. With a different profile – Malwarebytes Browser Guard alone – and just one page, the issue is consistently reproducible: 2019-09-07 14:26.mp4 Tested: https://mozilla.logbot.info/firefox/- 10 replies

Given this, in the manifest for 2.0.2: "browser_specific_settings": { "gecko": { "strict_min_version": "57.0" } } – what problems, if any, might be expected with Waterfox Classic? historically, Waterfox 56.0 was based on Firefox 56.0.2 (the last before Firefox Quantum) this week's version 56.2.14 is at https://www.waterfox.net/releases/ Early test results are good, no problems. Effective blocking where visits are allowed, for example: – and effective soft prevention of visits to sites:

Expected, when pointing at an ellipsis (…): the listing, unabbreviated. Actual result: abbreviation – and in the example below, it took me a couple of minutes to guess the non-abbreviated original.
