  1. Good afternoon everyone, Not really sure whether this is the most appropriate place to mention this, but I came across a post in an AV forum which stated the website, ushmm.org, has malicious javacode in the URL which has resulted in people becoming infected with malware. The site is for the United States Holocaust Museum. The Securi report at the following link appears to confirm this: http://sitecheck.suc...sults/ushmm.org Thank you for your time and review.
  2. What "techniques" are you referring to? Do you want to know how TROJANS manage to infect a computer or how you can create a trojan?
  3. Can you be more specific? Do you wish to learn about various types of malware & how to remove them, or are you attempting to CREATE malware? If it is the latter...I seriously doubt you will find any help here with such an endeavor.
  4. Hi daledoc1! You were correct in your deleted response here (which I received via email notification). When I went into my Profile/My Content area...I DID find a post I made in the General MBAM Forum back on February 24th about this same IP address. Please accept my apologies. I will start re-checking my prior posts in the future before posting a new topic. (Guess this is what happens when you are going on 60)! Best regards!
  5. Good morning everyone, While on another AV Forum site and viewing a couple of different posts there, MBAM generated an OUTGOING block alert showing the following IP address: 87.118.92.88. When I search this IP within the hosts-file(dot)net site, the RIPE database info displayed there shows the IP location as being in Germany, but I do not see any indicators of malicious activity for this IP. I can provide link to the specific topic post in the aforementioned AV forum if needed. (As I'm running Win XP Pro, MBAM doesn't show me any more info than the IP address). Thank you for your time and review.
  6. Hi utopian86, Within the McAfee Forums, they generally advise using only MBAM free, since the real-time scanning feature in MBAM Pro can possibly conflict with McAfee. In order to permit McAfee and MBAM Pro to function together, you would need to set exclusions within McAfee for MBAM and within MBAM for McAfee. I do not know just which FAQ section here has the exact exclusions you need to place, but hopefully one of the more knowledgeable forum members, Moderators or Admins will stop by here and direct you to their location. Best regards.
  7. Good evening, When I was scrolling through some topic posts in two DIFFERENT security forums today, MBAM Pro generated an OUTGOING block alert. The IP address (87.118.92.88) and the URL (ns(dot)km20323-04(dot)keymachine(dot)de) was the same in both MBAM blocks. I have "heard" this particular IP and URL are definitely associated with spamming and malware, with references made that this info was found in the MBAM Forums. My two questions: (1) - Is this IP & URL definitely known to be malicious and for what reason(s)? (2) - Why would I be getting two OUTGOING MBAM blocks on two separate websites (both were AV sites) with the same IP & URL being listed as the malicious site being blocked..bearing in mind that I clicked on absolutely nothing, but was merely scrolling down the pages of topic posts when the block alerts occurred? (The block alerts did not occur on every topic either). Thank you for your time, review, and any information. Regards,
  8. Good afternoon, I was wondering if the MBAM site here is related in some way to the hphosts site? Thank you for your time and info.
  9. Good morning, Once in a long while MBAM Pro will display the popup indicating it has blocked OUTGOING access to a malicious website. (HpHosts states the website is malicious and located in Germany). I have tried to ascertain which application on my computer is attempting to access this malicious site using the TcpView program, but evidently I am not fast enough for TcpView to catch it. On this occasion the outgoing block occurred while I was on my homepage on the Internet. Are there any other methods to figure out which program on my computer is making the calls? Repeated scans with MBAM, SAS, and AV are clean. Am running Win XP Pro, SP3; Avast! AV; Outpost Firewall Pro; MBAM Pro; SAS (on-demand only); IE8. NO P2P or torrent programs are on this machine. Thanks for your time and review.
  10. Hello nyjumpmab23, When you right-click on the MBAM icon in the Taskbar, and the menu comes up, did you left-click on the Website Blocking to enable it?
  11. Hello softrainfalling If you have re-installed Malwarebytes, did you place the necessary exclusions in Malwarebytes for McAfee and exclusions within McAfee for Malwarebytes? The exclusions are necessary so both programs can run concurrently without conflict.
  12. Hello Basil and welcome to the MBAM Forums! Sorry to hear of the rather complicated problems you are having. Your post really needs to be reviewed by some of our more experienced forum members & Moderators, given the complexity of the issues you mentioned. One thing I can mention is that it is always recommended to have an antivirus (AV) program installed which scans in real-time. I would also suggest you keep Malwarebytes installed. No single AV or antimalware program will catch every single piece of malware floating around on the Internet these days. By having a good AV program installed, keeping it updated regularly, and using a good anti-malware program like Malwarebytes (and UPDATED regularly), you provide yourself with good layers of security against viruses, trojans, and other malware. Please note...depending upon which AV program you decide to use, be sure to include the necessary exclusions in it for Malwarebytes, and exclusions in Malwarebytes for the AV software, to minimize any potential conflicts. This is particularly important if you are using the MBAM Pro (paid version) which scans in real-time. Hopefully some of our more knowledgeable forum members, Moderators, & Admins will review your post soon and can provide more help than I can. Best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season!
