  1. according to my another post regarding high RAM usage of MBAM: preparing new versions of MBAE, please don't increase RAM and processor usage by (too) much. as a typical end-user, I'm waiting for the final version of MBAE. thank you!
  2. I've been using MBAM for ca. 4 years or more. It used a moderate amount of RAM a few years ago, but it was increasing continuously, and now it's about 110 MB, actually much more than the amount of RAM used by firewall with HIPS and antivirus together (my OS is Windows XP Home SP3). Moreover, the new version MBAM 2.0 beta uses even much more RAM, something like 200 MB or so. So, would it be possible to reduce somewhat high RAM usage of MBAM, with no side effects (for processor, etc.)
  3. that's right; thx a lot for the explanation
  4. pbust, could you please answer my question? I don't use MS Office, and Open Office is quite popular on the market, I suppose, because it's free and works very well, especially the last versions
  5. MBAE protects Microsoft Office; does it mean the protection of Open Office? if not, do you plan to include it in the future upgrades?
  6. thank you; the OS is Windows XP Home (just re-installed), and the basic resident protection is Online Armor Pro, MBAM Pro, Avira free, KeyScrambler.
  7. which files/directories should be added to the exclusion/ignore list? Only the 'Program Files' directories with security programs, or also the (sub)directories from the 'Document and Settings' folder - I mean some programs as Avira or Online Armor which enter e.g. All Users\Application Data and/or [username]\Application Data or [username]\Local Settings\Application Data
  8. so, would it be possible that HMP.Alert is an exploit? independently of the problem with HMPA, I hope the next build (when?) will solve the problem with vanishing trash icon in Windows XP.
  9. +1, me too. are there any prelimiary predictions regarding the release of the final version #1 (is it a question of weeks rather than months, etc.). thank you!
  10. OK, maybe I will try, but I finally uninstalled HMP.alert, because it seemed to be in conflict with Online Armor (Program Guard)
  11. I temporarily uninstalled MBAE (BTW, it's good that both driver .sys and library .dll of MBAE are in the main 'Program Files' folder), but I had further problems with It worked for me only until the next reboot; maybe, it's because of my old OS (Win XP Home)? I temporarily uninstalled MBAE (BTW, it's good that both the driver .sys and the library .dll of MBAE are in the main 'Program Files' folder), but I had further problems - most probably with compatibility of HMPA and Online Armor (Program Guard), but that's another story
  12. pbust, thank you! this is a good practical solution for the moment
  13. I have also the same problem (Win XP Home). today I installed MBAE, everything went very smooth, after one or two reboots it was also OK, and now after the next reboot there is no MBAE icon in tray and MBAE does not respond when I click on the icon on desktop; or, to be more precise, after each mouse click something happens for a very short time (e.g. the icon in tray appears for a 'millisecond' and vanishes). the process 'mbae.exe' is present in task manager and I received the (in)famous message regarding HitmanPro.alert, so MBAE works somewhere in the background
  14. unfortunately, I have the same problem. I open only (one) Firefox. I add HitmanPro.alert to the MBAE exclusions, but it works only until the next reboot, and in the exclusions tab I have only date, no hash and file path is present.
  15. one more question: MBAE protects several programs and applications against exploits: browsers, adobe, MS office, and so on, but what about operating systems (Win XP, Vista, 7, etc.) - are they also protected by MBAE?
  16. I use a few security and privacy protecting add-ons for Firefox. Would they conflict with MBAE, or would MBAE cause a performance slowdown in such a case?
  17. thanks a lot for your replies!
  18. thank you. the official MS support for Windows XP will be stopped on April 2014, but Win XP is still used by about 35% of PC users
  19. please consider protecting the operating system Windows XP from exploits after April 2014 when the Microsoft updates will stop.
  20. Hi, a question to developers: when approximately do you expect to issue the first regular versions of MBAE and MBAR? of course, it's probably hard to answer such a question, but is it within weeks or months, or so?... it would be very good if you can organize all those three programs under one interface; it's logical and much more convenient to have one program instead of three from one company (say, it could be a Malwarebytes Security Suite). thank you.
  21. Hi, this is possibly false positive: IP 213.186.33.3 thank you!
  22. great, thanks a lot for the quick response!
