laserjet Posted January 11, 2009 ID:46739 Share Posted January 11, 2009 I know trojan downloaders set the stage for rogues but are there any known cases where a rogue allows other rogues to infiltrate your PC or spawn multiple rogues ?
exile360 Posted January 13, 2009 ID:47345 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Recently I don't recall seeing anything like this, however, a while back in when Vundo first started to explode on the scene, one behavior I did note was that when many rogues installed through a trojan, links to other rogue downloads would be placed on the desktop, although the other rogues themselves were not installed (but they would be if the links were clicked and they were downloaded by the user). Often it would be a rogue anti-virus or anti-spyware that was installed and links to rogue registry cleaners and rogue defrag/optimization software on the desktop.
