Malwarebytes vs Mcafee (Help me please =( )

Hey guys

On Saturday I found out i had the google redirect virus. So i scanned with Mcafee and it said it removed infected files but i still had the same problem so a friend told me to use Malwarebytes and then uninstall my web browser. So i did that and Malwarebytes said it had removed 10 infected files and asked me to restart so I did and then i also uninstalled google chrome. However now when i log on a few things dont work. Malwarebytes doesnt open, Mcafee doesnt open and even though my modem is on it says there is no internet connection. Mozilla will not open (i had it on my comp but didnt use it) and when i open IE it says theres no internet connection. When i go to the control panel to uninstall Malwarebytes i click no uninstall but nothing happens so i click on it again but it says there is an uninstall in progress even though nothing is happening on the screen. Out of curiosity i checked 'properties' of Malware bytes and it said it has been on my computer since 2009 but was 'modified' on saturday when i downloaded/used it.

Also when i plug in a USB or put in a CD the computer doesnt recognise it and hence nothing pops up like it would normally do to say "Open files' etc

So would you say that i still have the virus and its causing me problems or is Malwarebytes conflicting with Mcafee?

Thanks again to those who reply to this thread id really appreciate it if i could get my computer up and running again

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please download exeHelper from one of these two places:

http://www.raktor.net/exeHelper/exeHelper.com

http://www.raktor.net/exeHelper/exeHelper.scr

Save it to your Desktop and run it. When it finishes, restart your computer and see if you can run .exe files now.

If so, please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
