sullivan767 Posted July 2, 2011 ID:448403 Share Posted July 2, 2011 My PC was infected with the Windows XP Repair bug. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program and unhide.exe. Both programs seemed to work well. I have all of my desktop icons back and the Start/Programs menu seems to be populated with all of the usual programs. However, in the Start/Program menu it still shows "Windows XP Repair" and there are two programs that show up in the dropdown menu. Those programs are "Uninstall Windows XP Repair" and "Windows XP Repair." Does this indicate that the malware is still lurking in my system or are these dead links that I can just delete?
