Njem Posted June 8, 2011 ID:438355 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I tried following your instructions for removing windows salvage. I renamed the install as explorer.exe and ran it. The virus catches it and asks if I want to allow temp\....\explorer.tmp to run. Of course neither option it gives actually lets it run, so I can't install. Tried safe mode and get the same result. If I could kill it long enough to install...but it won't let taskmanager run of course. I also tried plugging the drive into another system and ran a scan on it. That found no infections. What now?
