How to disable the splash screen?

Recommended Posts

I had a lot of problems with MBAM and solved them by looking

at the various messages posted here.

Now the application is working without problems.

But one annoying feature is the splash screen that comes up when

Windows starts and I have to manually close it each time.

Is there a way to disable this?

I don't find any way to do this in the Settings tab.

I searched the forums but could not find any solution to this.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks in advance!

Hi jraahm.:)

I'm not aware of MBAM having a splash screen. Could you provide a screenshot by hitting the "Print Screen" button and pasting into paint then upload as attachment?

Also list the following:

1. Operating System including Service Pack

2. Instaleld security products including firewall

3. MBAM version and database number.

By splash screen, I meant the screen that shows up asking me to do one of

three types of scans when I am not wanting to do one.

The screen should come up, only when I click the icon in the system tray and not

automatically when Windows starts up.

I am using Windows XP Professional with Service pack 3

Windows Firewall, Eset's Nod32, Super Anti Spyware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro and Spyware Guard.

Thanks again!

The only time it should appear is when a scan is scheduled, do you have the option selected to run a scan after update? Do you have any other program control software installed?

Yes, the check box for run 'flash scan after successful update' was checked by default (not by me).

Anyway, I disabled it and then restarted my PC but still the MBAM window showed up.

I then remembered I had a Program Control s/w called Mike Lin's 'Startup' that I have been using for a long time.

I unchecked the check box for starting MBAM when Windows starts.

Then I restarted the PC, but this time, the MBAM window did not come up but here's the kicker.

MBAM was not in the system tray and so I had to manually start MBAM.

Then I found Protection was disabled!

I then had to manually enable 'Protection' and then close the window.

Hope I've explained myself. Looking forward for your reply.

Thanks!

Ok, maybe I'm missing something, if it's not set to run with Windows, why are you surprised it's not in the system tray?

Also, check the Windows task scheduler to see if you have any tasks set to run.
