Update database

Where is malware detection database located on system partition. Why update must be almost same in size. Whether is a single or a multiple database files.

The database file is stored in the following locations.

* Windows XP and 2000

* C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

* Windows Vista and Windows 7:

* C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

Similar to Ad-Avare definition file, single but lightweighted, as i suspected.

Why update must be almost same in size.

The updates are a full download of the detection files, without the basic operating system -

If you ever loaded Dr Web Cure It then you would know that they never 'update' the system , you d/load a full version each time -w

We just upload the current full database without the operating system -
