Avira - COMODO is not enough good thing I install Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

Thought that it was already enough

Been using Avira for more than 1 year.

Been using COMODO Firewall Pro 3.

Never been infected then, or if ever, Avira always detects and

deletes the infected or suspicious file. I feel fully secured.

BUT!

I have just red the post of " Rajo " in Avira forums

heres the link http://tinyurl.com/5w49f9

WHAT IS THIS Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

just curious, maybe just another CLAIM-ALL anti malware program.

search in google, castlecops, and other sites

for a legitimacy of this new found program.

after few reads, already convinced enough to download

and install this anti-malware (already been used in Ad-aware by Lavasoft).

Run the program, done an update, IM VERY CONFIDENT THAT IT WONT FIND

ANY MALWARE IN MY PC, im very coutious what ever i download and site i go to. :)

BUT THEN

If you have not done so already if i were you please update to Windows Service Pack 3. I noticed your still running service pk. 2 according to your log file that you posted. The Windows Service Pack 3 will further tighten your security, just do a manual windows update go to all programs from your start menu to clic on windows update. Maybe double check that your windows automatic updates is turned on. cause that update to service pack 3 came out quite awhile ago.

JeanInMontana why do i still have to run Spybot-Search & Destroy since I already have Malwarebytes,

any way your right i still find more :)

I got:

Win32.Agent.gvu

Microsoft.Windows.Security.InternetExplorer

What are these, I thought my PC is already clean after running and cleaning with Malwarebytes,

QUESTION:

1.) Is Spybot much "BETTER" than Malwarebytes?

2.) Does this trojans or malwares that Spybot found are just normal? no risk at all?

3.) I dont experience anyway slowdown on my system or popups. does this malware do something else?

4.) Should I just use Spybot.

thanks alot

Hi GHT and all

Hello Jene

Spybot works completly differently than MBAM and most other scanners

Spybot scans on a spyware by spyware method rather than a file by file method

as an example

in this thread

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?PHPSESSID...p;topic=37421.0

Spybot found some hits missed by other scanners- leading the poster to get serious about his threat

as threats constantly evolve tomorrow the results could easily - and will be- different

MBAM and other tools- great
