MBAM_ERROR_CHECK_INFECTED(0,9)

Recommended Posts

yeah and so, this is my first post on this forum. Please excuse me if it is posted in the wrong location. I'm a noob. Long story short: I've been attempting to clean this pc of the av/ave.exe rogue/malware infection... without success.

I've managed to stop the annoying xp defender popups and clean the registry of obvious av/ave.exe files but today I received this mbam error code: MBAM_ERROR_CHECK_INFECTED(0,9)

Every file and process scanned with mbam produces this error message. It has found 42 infections and mbam has scanned for all of 30 seconds. It is now frozen.

As of late, the only way I have succesfully loaded, updated and run mbam is by locking up the computer by scanning the mbam.exe file with 2 other scanners simultaneously: superantispyware + mse while attempting to load malwarebyte's antimalware.

...and before you ask, yes, I have utilized rkill and renamed the mbam.exe file and its extension in order to run mbam. It worked for a while, but no more. I thought I had succesfully removed the nasty when mbam found ave.exe, then quarantined it about a week ago. I was wrong apparently. MSE subseuently found a FakeRean variant and cleaned it, but I have since encountered win32 service errors. I'm guessing this rogue/malware actively renames itself to the registry? Not even turning off system restore helped. Anyway, I've given up. I'm going to reformat this weekend. I keep getting browser redirects and problems running mbam.

I googled the mbam error message and found ZERO results. Just thought the regulars on this forum would be interested.

*skakes fist*

*logs off*

Hello lolomgwtfbbqsauce, :):)

because you have an infection, the infection itself is what is probably causing your errors.....

Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process:

We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums.

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

If you are a corporate customer please send an email to corporate-support@malwarebytes.org. (NOTE: An order number is required for corporate support.)

Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

Thank you :)
