mbam-clean.exe

Recommended Posts

the correct way to use this tool is as follows....

Please try this on the computer that is having an issue.

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

2. Restart your computer (very important).

3. Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe

4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).

5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. mbam-setup.exe

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and that you can run a quick scan and all is working as expected.

if you got the error SHGetValue failed with error code 0, then more than likely its because the clean up tool had nothing to do.

Firefox,

Immediately after it downloaded - I got this message it said.

-----------------------------

Setup

Unable to execute file:

C:\Program files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

Create Process failed; code 2

The system cannot find the

file specified

----------------------------------

When I tried to click on the shortcut it said this:

----------------------------------

Missing Shortcut

Searching for mbam.exe

----------------------------------

When it finished it said:

---------------------------------

The item 'mbam.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved,

so this shortcut will not work properly.

The nearest match based on size date and type

C:\Program files\ Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\ mbamgui.exe

Do you want to fix this shortcut to point to the target or do you just want to delete it?

----------------------------------

At that point I just canceled and came back here.

What do I do now?

OIC... looks like some malware may be deleting your mbam.exe file upon installing.... you can try this self help guide HERE for error code 2 see if that helps.

If not then I have more instructions for you to follow:
