newbie help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've used malwarebytes for quite awhile now, but lately I haven't been able to get it to start...I get the message stating something along the lines of "windows is searching for the file mbam.exe" ...it never finds it, and sure enough when I go to the malwarebytes folder it's not there. I have uninstalled and re installed and every time mbam.exe doesn't get put in the folder.

Anyone have any suggestions?

thanks.

Do you get any error codes when you install it? There is some Malware out there that deletes the mbam.exe file. You can try this below and see if it helps you. If you do get it to run, make sure you udpate and perform a quick scan.

mbam will not install - Code 2 error, mbam.exe not found

Please go here:

And see if that might help get Malwarebytes running for you :)

I don't get any error codes when I install it. The mbam.exe file just never gets put in the folder.

However, I went ahead and downloaded the renamed mbam file as suggested in the thread you provided, and when I attempt to run it, I do get an 'error code 707 (3,0)'. I am definitely infected to BTW, as when I click on Yahoo search links, I'm redirected through something called 'SearchClick8.com"

Thanks for any help.
