Lifetime License - converted to 'FREE' and now popups pushing Premium deals

Recommended Posts

Never before has my Lifetime license been dumped to the side like this.

I happened to click Malwarebytes to check for updates and noticed the dashboard showing only "free' protection and brightly colored buttons asking me to upgrade to Premium.

A popup ad appeared on my desktop touting Malwarebytes Premium and "get 6 apps for free.  Upgrade to Premium for $79.99 and save $390." (see attached)

Is this a popup from Malwarebytes? or something sinister.

I opened settings to the Account page... it shows my premium license - never expires and key as it should be.

When I returned to the main dashboard all of a sudden i see Premium 'device protected'.

The Malwarebytes "deal" popup still remains on my desktop.

Please let me know why this happened.  Am I protected ??? or has something nasty infected my machine that needs prompt attention?

Hello @RICK-T-FIED

The popup is from Malwarebytes. If your version of the program is no longer in the activated mode you'll need to contact support.

I'm sorry but we cannot assist you with licensing issues here on the forums.

You will need to create a support ticket and have one of our agents assist you.

If you can send us some logs we can see if we're able to detect what might have happened @RICK-T-FIED

To begin, please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
  • A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to the Public desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

Thank you
