Yes, that's good news indeed! I'm not sure about the etiquette with quoting and I sure hope it hasn't been a bother. Apologies for hijacking thread as well and I appreciate the help and input so far. Hope Dave can get back to me soon just to put my paranoia to rest.

I'm not sure. I deleted it off Malwarebytes, but the scan log said it was "replaced." But it's the one I have on my computer now.

That file is corrupt and can safely be deleted, it will not run in its current state. That said wordpad.exe is still in it's default location on your machine so you are able to use it
