Malwarebytes efficacy

I used to love Malwarebytes. I'd run a scan and get a hundred results, and after that my computer would run swimmingly.

Over the last year, or maybe two years, though, Malwarebytes seems to have stopped working. I have not had a single scan return a single problem. My computer runs horribly, and there is no way I believe that nothing is there to be picked up. So why don't any of my anti-malware programs pick anything up? I've since downloaded three more programs - Avira, Panda, and CCleaner (the only program I have that does anything to better my computer's performance) - in addition to Malwarebytes, and yet still I never get a single virus, Trojan horse, or other piece of malware. Nothing whatsoever ever turns up in these scans, and it hasn't in maybe two years.

I don't believe it. Something is wrong, either with these programs, or there is something blocking them from picking up the problems. Any ideas?

If you are not getting any detections it could just be that there is nothing to detect on your system.  And if you have not gotten any alerts then its possible you have just been practicing safe hex, or just lucky.  As for your computer running horribly or have some sort of infection, we can't say anything about that without logs.  If your willing to provide logs for review we can take a look and see if we can find any issues.

Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues....

1. FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs
2. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
   NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
3. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
4. Press the "Scan" button
5. This will product two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
   NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you
6. NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log
7. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
8. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK"
9. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
10. Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area
