I just paid for premium Malwarebytes....  same problem.  Pup.Optional.Legacy....  is 2 threats coming from ask.com when I use adware cleaner..... but a scan of my NEW IMPROVED Malware Premium ... shows nothing.... computer is slow and freezes.

AND I just spent a half hour getting past your robot proof sign in for help.... this is NOT going well.

Why do I have Pup.Optional.Legacy .... infecting my computer... and malware says NO threats

Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

• Double-click to run it. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
• Press the Scan button.
• It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
• The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). If you've, run the tool before you need to place a check mark here.
• Please attach the Additions.txt log to your reply as well.

How am I supposed to know not to comment on someone else's thread?  I am not an expert, but a disgruntled customer.  Just logging in was a nightmare... it asked which number is in the middle....  of 4 6 8.....  I put 6 ... I got an Error message.

So when I get malware like Pup.Optional.Legacy..... malwarebytes doesn't protect me... OR notify me of the threat.  I have to download something else?   Also, this is the first time adwcleaner didn't work.   I don't understand.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.... I am not usually considered a stupid person.  But you people all talk to each other in terms that are known only to others in the field.  I have absolutely no idea what to do.

It's more likely an issue from AdwCleaner than MB3 here.

Can you share AdwCleaner logfile? You can find it from C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[Sxx].txt

I just tried to run the frst.exe and I got a warning ... my computer protected me from this site....  Should I ignore that warning?

 

this is CRAZY.... I don't know who to believe or what to do....   all I know Is I just spent good money and am infected... and you want me to go somewhere ELSE to get results....  Does Malwarebytes Premium protect from Pup.Optional.Legacy?

It's ok that the file is marked as "unsafe" because it is unsigned so you can ignore this warning.

This is the first time I"ve been able to get back to this.... and when I tried FRST...... it said it was incompatible with my operating system... and to try FRST64

This is insanity.  I saw all the other forums on this virus... is this new?  Does anyone get rid of it?
