Update Failed - DeleteFile Code 5 Error

I received an update notice re the 3.06 version.  Downloaded & clicked install.  

Got a message saying "An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file. DeleteFile failed: Code 5.  Access is denied."

Tried to uninstall from control panel, but got the spinning blue circle, which has been running for an hour with no results, using 12+% of cpu.

Was unable to close or X the Uninstall Status window, so I ended it in Task Manager.

I'm running MWB Premium on a Dell laptop with Windows 10.

Thanks for any advice.

Hello @Woofna

Before we collect logs and do some troubleshooting , I would like to recommend our MB-Clean tool.

This tool will clean up the installed Malwarebytes product after backing up your key.

Please restart your machine when the tool prompts you to. Also reboot your should see the option to reinstall the product. Reinstall the product and hopefully you should be good to go.
