rclosure Posted September 13, 2016 Author ID:1061703 Share Posted September 13, 2016 I'm running it now. How long should it take? I've ran it about 20 mins now.
Staff treed Posted September 14, 2016 Staff ID:1061798 Share Posted September 14, 2016 The time needed varies widely, depending on how cluttered your Mac is, particularly in the key areas that need to be scanned. Having a very large number of browser extensions in particular can have a detrimental effect on scan speed... and is a very bad idea anyway, so trimming your browser extensions down to 5 or less not only helps your browser be more stable and secure, but also improves Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac scan speeds. If the scan got stuck for some reason, force-quit the app (press command-option-esc to open the Force Quit Applications window, then use that to force-quit Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac). Then do what I advised ktz to do and send me a system snapshot.
rclosure Posted September 14, 2016 Author ID:1061823 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Okay. I see it now. Browser extensions. What exactly is that?
rclosure Posted September 14, 2016 Author ID:1061850 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Nevermind my last comment. It actually worked! My computer is as quiet as a mouse now. And speed has picked up on it. Thanks!
Staff treed Posted September 14, 2016 Staff ID:1061872 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Looks like someone consolidated posts from both topics to this one. The other one was: I'm unclear on whether the problem is now solved or not, and if solved what you did to fix it...?

You can find it here: https://data-cdn.mbamupdates.com/web/MBAM-Mac-1.0.2.8.dmg That's a quite old and outdated version of the software, though.
