Unprevented attack

Have the latest version of this software.  Just had an attack of ransomware that was NOT stopped.  Fortunately, I was able to shut down extremely fast and use several scans to delete this. Spybot was able to find and fix the computer.  I understand I may have not had the most malicious attack, but I had hoped your software would stop it.
