JRT & Temporary files

Recommended Posts

As you already stated, they are temporary internet files. Some of them however may be malicious.

They are purged for a few reasons.. primarily:

1) Some malware may be hiding in these types of folders. -- Examples below

2) They accumulate over time filling up your hard drive / SSD (something I'd consider "junk"). -- Examples below

and finally, in years of examining computers, I have yet to see anything important being automatically added to these folders.

Hi,

There aren't any official recommendations on it but it is primarily intended to use when someone is experiencing problems with their computer and/or they suspect they may have some type of adware infection due to pop ups, redirects while browsing, and/or if they started to notice a bunch of programs lying around on the desktop/Add/Remove programs that you know you didn't intentionally install which are known as potentially unwanted programs/applications or PUPs/PUAs.
