MBARW blocks data transfer.

Synctoy just plain stopped when doing preview. Tried to open File explorer and it took forever. Tried to do copy paste a file from one computer to another and it just sat their and did nothing. The only thing that I could think of that was different was the download of MBARW so I turned it off. Everything went back to normal. MBRAW showed nothing as far as Quarantine or deletions. Uninstalled and reinstalled thinking maybe the first download got corrupted but it made no difference. Finally uninstalled because I can't be running around turning it off to do transfers.

Hello Rich and :welcome:

Even though MBARW has been removed, please confirm the existence or absence of the following directories. If present, please create the following files for developer analysis:

Create a ZIP file of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\.
Create another ZIP file of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\.

Please attach the above zipped files to your next reply.

Thank you.

Hello Rich:

It is realized that this MBARW beta testing is out of personal kindness.

If an opportunity arises where you can briefly re-install MBARW 0.9.9.314 beta3, please reconstruct the scenario that brought about the issue you experienced and then capture the two directories requested for eventual posting to this topic.

Thank you for beta testing and your feedback.

Hello Rich:

If a conventional Windows restart to the Normal boot mode has/does not resolve(d) the reported issue, please consider a clean re-install of MBARW:

1. Close all open Windows applications followed by a conventional Windows based uninstall of MBARW.
2. If MBARW was uninstalled successfully, the following directories will have been deleted from a typical Windows 64-bit system:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\

C:\ProgramData\MBAMService\

3. If any of the above directories remain, please delete them manually.
4. Execute a conventional Windows restart to the Normal Windows boot mode and log-in to an Administrator's account. <===IMPORTANT!
5. Using an Administrator's account only, download a fresh MBARW_Setup.exe file and save to the Administrator's Desktop from the MBARW Introduction topic.
6. Restart the computer in a conventional manner to the Windows Normal boot mode.

Please reply to your topic with the status of your reported issue.

Thank you for beta testing MBARW and your valued feedback.

Downloaded MBARW on my other two computers and seemed to work fine until yesterday morning when I booted up. Showed that protection was turned off and I could not turn it back on. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Uninstalled, deleted download files and searched for any remaining files, reinstalled and worked fine. Rebooted and same problem occurred. Nothing that I have tried so far has worked. Both computers are 9 year old Windows 7 computers upgraded? to Windows 10.

Hello Rich:

Please create the following archives, from the most troublesome system, for developer analysis:

Create a ZIP archive of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\

Create another ZIP archive of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\

Please attach the above zipped archives to your next reply.

Thank you for your feedback Rich.
