Updated to version 2.1.8.1057 from previous version. It installed then the following failure occurred while it was starting. Restarted Malwarebytes and it then updated and was OK.

You did not mention whether you did a post install Windows restart or not. Assuming you have restarted by now, and all seems normal, please monitor for abnormalities and report.
