TremendousSale Adware Can't Remove

Hello all,

 

I am having difficulties removing this adware from my PC that identifies itself under each of the ads it displays as "TremendousSale". It seems to only affect my browsers: Chrome and Firefox. Internet Explorer is working just fine for the time being. This adware causes multiple intrusive banner ads and popup windows to appear on each and every webpage I visit. It's incredibly annoying and would not appear in "Uninstall Programs" in Control Panel, so I installed Adwcleaner and ran a search. The program found a few files and I deleted and restarted. The problem persisted through this and three more Antivirus scans and restarts (Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, AVG). I even did a Windows System Restore, to no avail. I looked through hidden files and I'm not sure what it could be called so I didn't touch anything. No matter what I try I can't seem to find or remove this virus and it's become really bothersome so any help in removing it would be greatly appreciated. I can download any programs and am willing to upload any logs anyone may need me to. Thanks to anyone who is willing to help!

The same applies to any use of P2P software: uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze, Kazaa, Ares... We don't provide any help for P2P, except for their removal. All P2P software has to be uninstalled or at least fully disabled before proceeding!

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

• Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.

• It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

Uninstall some programs

We need to uninstall some unwanted/unneeded programs.

• Press the + R on your keyboard at the same time. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.
• Search there for each entry mentioned below, right-click the entry and click Uninstall one at a time

The list of programs to uninstall:

• brainwash
• CoupMania

After completing uninstalls, please manually reboot your machine!

Note: If you get the message like: An error occurred while trying to uninstall, just press Yes.

Scan with ZOEK

Please download ZOEK by Smeenk and save it to your desktop (preferred version is the *.exe one)
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.
 

• Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
• Wait patiently until the main console will appear, it may take a minute or two.
• In the main box please paste in the following script:
  

  createsrpoint;autoclean;emptyalltemp;bitsadmin /reset /allusers;bipconfig /flushdns;b

• Make sure that Scan All Users option is checked.
• Push Run Script and wait patiently. The scan may take a couple of minutes.
• When the scan completes, a zoek-results logfile should open in notepad.
• If a reboot is needed, it will be opened after it. You may also find it at your main drive (usually C:\ drive)

Chrome installation is altered by malware (developer version). Reinstall is needed.

 

 

Close all Chrome windows and tabs.

Go to the Start menu > Control Panel.

Click Programs and Features.

Double-click Google Chrome.

Click Uninstall from the confirmation dialog. Delete your user profile information, like your browser preferences, bookmarks, and history, select the "Also delete your browsing data" checkbox

 

 

Download and install Chrome

The following will implement some post-cleanup procedures:


Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

• Run the tool by right click on the icon and Run as administrator option.
• Make sure that these ones are checked:
  
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Purge system restore
  • Reset system settings
    

  [*]Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work. [*]All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)
  

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
