What do you think caused freeze up after MBAM scan)?

Recommended Posts

I first learned of MBAM after I fell for the fake Adobe Flash Player download and my computer support tech suggested MBAM to help in the cleanup. MBAM found 20-30 items. On restart (almost immediately after shutdown) my computer totally froze up (even Cntrl-Alt-Del wouldn't work). Finally had to kill the power to turn it off. This time I waited 10 minutes before starting back up, and this time it worked fine. Still continues to be its old self.

Why the freeze up? The only thing I can think is the immediate restart vs. waiting 10 minutes.

Hi:

I'm afraid there's no way to tell without a bit more info. :(

If you wish, please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt).

The staff and experts will review them and advise you further.

OTOH, if you're concerned that you might be infected (based on the fact that MBAM found several dozen items), then it might be a good idea to get some expert help.

We cannot work on possible malware issues here in this section of the forum.

So I suggest that you might want to please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will guide you through the scanning and cleanup process.

Thanks,
