What to do: Runtime error - database stuck on 2014.03.04 - program 'stopped working' error

Recommended Posts

This is in the way of a special tip for very specific situations where there is a problem getting Database update or the program stops working at the Dashboard screen with version 2.0.2.

If one sees these specific onscreen errors shown below or the  databases definitions are out of date with a version of 2014.03.04  and it remains to be an issue:

NOTE: A release version the program is now publicly available, that solves this issue.

For anyone that has the same recurring issue with the Database out of date issue, or the unable to Update, I urge that you really consider getting our  version 2.0.3.1025  and install that.

If you have encountered the errors above, I would suggest installing the 2.0.3.1025 version onto the affected system.

B.T.W.  This is only for consumer systems.   Not ones with Business Licenses.  ( the latter are a separate product).

IF your Windows is Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 or VISTA......Remember to do this on the  EXE tools (below)..... you will need to do a right-click on the EXE program  and then select "Run as Administrator". Please remember that as you go along and use these tools, each in turn.

Please follow the steps below to do special steps for a  installation of the Anti-Malware program.

NOTE: SAVE the downloads to your system first.

Do not "run" them while in the browser program.

When presented with the option to Run or Save, you must select Save.

1: Please do a Logoff >> Shutdown >> Restart so that Windows is in a new session.

2: Download and SAVE to your system the 2.0.3 version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware just released from the link below:

Here

3: Now run the setup:

For Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8 / or 8.1

Do a Right-click on mbam-setup-2.0.3.1025.exe and select Run as Administrator and allow to run.

Answer YES when prompted by User Account Control ( Windows ).

For Windows XP, just double click on mbam-setup-2.0.3.1025.exe and and allow to run.

Have lots of patience as the Setup runs.

NOTE:

I would suggest that when the install is completed, that you do one more Logoff >> Restart Windows so that all is finalized to storage.
