justn Posted December 5, 2013 ID:761033 Share Posted December 5, 2013 This morning I received a warning that Malwarebytes blocked VLC player (I was not using it at the time) and mentioned something about trojan.downloader.tc/axvlc.dll. Afterwards, I ran a scan and it found vlc-1.1.11-win32.exe (Trojan.Downloader.TC) as a threat. However, I have had this exe file in my downloads folder since I first build this computer over a year ago and noticed nothing adverse. Is this a false positive or something else? Thanks. However, on my work laptop I also have VLC installed so I updated/ran MB scans and found nothing. Both VLCs I believe were downloaded from the official site with the only difference being my desktop's version was 1.1.11 and laptop's is 2.0.3.
