computer now TOO slow

i just cannot figure this out.  my computer (yes, its older - core 2 duo E4600, 2 gb ram, win xp-sp3, up to date, seagate 2 TB drive, lots of space, working per seatools) started going slow yesterday.  have not installed new prgrams.  system32 latest DLL is 7/28/13. 

 

it takes FOREVER (well about 2+ minutes) to boot.  this is a new problem

 

any help would be appreciated
