Still had Avira when I booted the computer up this morning and the same shenanigans happened as yesterday. I uninstalled Avira, rebooted and ran Avira's registry cleaner post as well. So far Malwarebytes seem to be running OK. Is there anything else that you want me to run? Let me know.

OK MrC. For the last couple of days Malwarebytes has been running flawlessly. Ever since I uninstalled Avira from my system i did not have a problem with gray outs. Please let me know if there is anything else you want me to run. You had mentioned in an earlier post that we had some cleaning up to do still. Let me know. Thank you.

Java™ 6 Update 24 <---please uninstall from your add/remove programs

Java version out of Date! <-------Download and install the latest version from Here

Uncheck the box to install the Ask toolbar!!! and any other free "stuff".

Adobe Reader 10.1.6 Adobe Reader out of Date! <---please check for an update if available or uninstall and download and install Foxit Reader which is less vulnerable to malware and much better than Adobe.

Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2 Firefox out of Date! <-------Please check for an update if available

You have out dated programs on the system which are vulnerable to malware.

Please update or uninstall them

A little clean up to do....

Please Uninstall ComboFix: (if you used it)

Press the Windows logo key + R to bring up the "run box"

Copy and paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /uninstall

Make sure there's a space between Combofix and /

Then hit enter.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and clears System Restore cache and create new Restore point

(If that doesn't work.....you can simply rename ComboFix.exe to Uninstall.exe and double click it to complete the uninstall)

Please download OTL from one of the links below: (you may already have OTL on the system)

Save it to your desktop.

Run OTL and hit the CleanUp button. (This will cleanup the tools and logs used including itself)

Any other programs or logs you can manually delete.

IE: RogueKiller.exe, RKreport.txt, RK_Quarantine folder, C:\FRST, MBAR, etc....AdwCleaner > just run the program and click uninstall.

MrC, I tried to uninstall Java 6 Update 24 but it won't uninstall. I tried to remove it with 3 different tools the windows uninstall/remove, JV16 Powertools, and even with a utility called JavaRa-2.1. None of them were able to remove it from my system. Any suggestions?

Try to update it:

Go to control panel > Java > Update Tab > Update Now
