TROJ_FAKEAV.BMC from Trend Micro Officescan

I am getting a virus warning from Trend Micro OffficeScan on the file "C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes/Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware\mbam-setup.exe". I am not sure of how Malwarebytes does it's updates, so I am not sure if this is a false positive or malware appearing to be malwarebytes. Is this the directory where malwarebytes does its automatic updates? Either way, I thought you'd like to know about it.

Can u get me the version info of the mbam-setup.exe and i can report it to trendmicro. Its more than likely a false positive on their part.

I tried to download the latest version of Malwarebytes from CNET today, and my A/V TrendMicro Officescan had deleted it right away. The file that was deleted was "mbam-setup-1.65.1.1000.exe". It detects it as TROJ_FAKEAV.BMC

_{I am able to download and install the newest version from CNET of Malwarebytes today. The new virus defs from Trend don't detect it as malware today. Yeah!}

Same as above. Today, Trend-Micro is reporting the mbam-setup files as a troj_fakeav.bmc. Thought you should know -- Ken

Rick - I am pretty sure they are up-to-date. I just placed it on my exception list. No issue any more -- but I can take it off the exception list and test to see if it is still an issue. Will report back in a little bit. --Ken
