Marieee Posted January 18, 2012 ID:518010 Share Posted January 18, 2012 Hi, I have opened and downloaded application form from a scam email on two computers at home and I just can't work out of how to get rid of the error message that constantly comes up when I log in to my Hotmail account.I have tried different anti-virus and malware/spyware programs and only couple of malware threats has been detected and removed, no viruses.When having Malwarebytes installed I keep getting those messages: 'Successfully blocked access to a potential malicious website: Port:...., Type: Incoming, Process: pmb.exe.'I have been checking those IP addresses that keep attacking my computers on http://www.ipfraudreporter.com/ and most of them were from Netherlands from the same address and couple others from Moldavia and Bosnia etc...So no matter what email account I log into I always get this error when I goo to account options and then I click Inbox, that's when this message comes up: This is probably not the site that you are looking for!You attempted to reach sn144w.snt144.mail.live.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself asa248.e.akamai.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of sn144w.snt144.mail.live.com. You should not proceed.Help me understandWhen you connect to a secure website, the server hosting that site presents your browser with something called a "certificate" to verify its identity. This certificate contains identity information, such as the address of the website, which is verified by a third party trusted by your computer. By checking that the address in the certificate matches the address of the website, it is possible to verify that you are securely communicating with the website that you intended and not a third party (such as an attacker on your network).In this case, the address listed in the certificate does not match the address of the website that your browser tried to go to. One possible reason for this is that your communications are being intercepted by an attacker who is presenting a certificate for a different website, which would cause a mismatch. Another possible reason is that the server is set up to return the same certificate for multiple websites, including the one that you are attempting to visit, even though that certificate is not valid for all of those websites. Google Chrome can say for sure that you reached a248.e.akamai.net, but cannot verify that it is the same site assn144w.snt144.mail.live.com which you intended to reach. If you proceed, Chrome will not check for any further name mismatches. In general, it is best not to proceed past this point.I tried creating new email accounts, same thing happens. I wiped my hard drive on one of my computers completely and as soon as I logged in to my hotmail SAME THING HAPPENED. Wiping hard drive did not resolve this. I believe there is something to do with network/certificates?Before formatting the hard drive I have found some fraudulent certificates and removed those but it did nothing!I have no idea what to do!
